Guangzhou Nansha Central Hospital

Guangzhou Nansha Central Hospital was jointly established by the Guangzhou Municipal Government and Nansha District Government to improve medical infrastructure in Nansha District and accelerate the development of southern Guangzhou New City. It opened on July 15, 2008, and is currently the only Grade III-A general hospital in Nansha District. Originally under the administration of Guangzhou Municipal Health Bureau and operated by Guangzhou First People's Hospital, it was renamed Guangzhou First People's Hospital Nansha Branch (affiliated with Guangzhou Nansha Central Hospital) in March 2014 after approval by the Guangzhou Municipal Institutional Organization Commission. It is now directly managed by Guangzhou First People's Hospital and remains a public institution at the deputy director level funded by fiscal allocation. The hospital is located west of Jiaomen River, adjacent to Huanshi Avenue, north of Jinzhou Station on Metro Line 4, and surrounded by mountains to the east, offering a beautiful, fresh-air environment with convenient transportation. The hospital covers a total area of 100,500 square meters. Construction is carried out in three phases; Phase I, completed so far, has a building area of 30,000 square meters and currently provides 155 beds. Phase II construction began on December 18, 2012, and is expected to be completed by March 2015, including a 13-story inpatient building and a 5-story medical technology building with 400 beds. Subsequent Phase II projects include a 13-story comprehensive surgical inpatient building, an 11-story health rehabilitation building, an 11-story science education and administrative building, a 3-story staff canteen, a tumor radiotherapy center, and a hyperbaric oxygen chamber. The foundation pit bidding has been completed, and upon completion, the total number of hospital beds will reach 980. The hospital currently operates 17 specialized departments, including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Anesthesiology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Dentistry, Dermatology, Medical Imaging, Clinical Laboratory, and Clinical Pharmacy. The hospital employs 419 staff members, including 25 with senior professional titles, 2 doctoral supervisors, 3 master’s supervisors, 7 doctors, and 94 master’s degree holders. Currently, the hospital is equipped with facilities valued at nearly 1. Advanced medical equipment and precision instruments worth 100 million yuan, including 64-slice spiral CT, digital X-ray photography system (DR), high-definition gastrointestinal endoscopy (NBI), fully automatic biochemical analyzer, fully automatic immunoassay analyzer, high-end color ultrasound, various endoscopic surgical systems, and a world-class digital integrated operating room. The hospital will soon put into use a series of cutting-edge devices, including a 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging system (MRI) and digital subtraction angiography system (DSA). Since its opening, the hospital has performed various complex surgeries and successfully rescued numerous patients with severe, complicated, and critical conditions, with rapid growth in medical volume. Current specialty departments include trauma surgery, gastroenterology, dermatology, pediatrics, traditional Chinese medicine, radiology, laboratory medicine, and Health Screening center.
